Opiate Detox
There
is treatment for opiate withdrawal and opiate addiction
that has proven to work. Opiate detox, specifically
opiate detoxs that use methods such as Suboxone, and
in some cases Methadone help an addict or struggling
user stay off opiates for good. It is extremely difficult
to stop doing opiates without help because in most cases
the withdrawal symptoms are too painful for the person
to handle. Some detoxs use Methadone as a semi-effective
way to help reduce withdrawal symptoms, however Methadone
is still an addictive drug, of which many people coming
down off other opiates get addicted to. Methadone has
proven to work is certain cases, namely inpatient or
residential treatment facilities, however it is not
a long-term solution, nor can it be used in outpatient
programs effectively. In addition, people who use Methadone
over and over may find that they have developed a tolerance
to the detox drug and need more in order to function
without withdrawal symptoms. There are other detox options,
including the latest development of Suboxone. Suboxone
detox is effective because Suboxone has been proven
to work. This detox drug is FDA approved and more successful
in treating opiate addiction and withdrawal because
it has less severe side effects, can be used in outpatient
settings and is much less likely to be abused. Suboxone
is harder to get addicted to than other detox drugs.
For Suboxone to be most effective, it is should first
be used under the guidance of a licensed professional.
If opiate abusers or addicts want to stay off drugs
once the detox has occurred, it is beneficial for them
to find a treatment center or support groups that can
help them work through the more difficult issues surrounding
drug addiction.
